"Tamara, how do you make all of those products from start to finish without getting tired or stressed?" Or " DO you ever want to do something else?"
These questions are often asked by clients and customers. My reply is always the same, I LOVE WHAT I DO! I spoke about the down side of being an entrepreneur previously, but there is an amazing side. I never thought about having a business or being pretty much a one man show lol. But I can't think of anything else that I would rather be doing. I am absolutely in love with being a master formulator, creating safe and amazing products not only for my brand but for others as well.
When starting anything especially a business if you do not love it do not do it! Passion comes through your work. Your customers and clients will see how much you enjoy your craft and that will make them want to learn more. You have to be so in love with what you do that it fuels and motivate you. There will be some bad days but with the motivation and determination that is fueling motivating you it makes it worth every moment.
I can not think of anything else I would want to do. I have hobbies and other things I enjoy but my love lies with JAK's. When you discover your passion it's as if there is no work involved. Don't get me wrong it is a lot of hard work but you don't mind putting in the extra time and effort. Success is determined on your determination, and your determination is an extension on your passion. This should be applied to all aspects including relationships.
Think of your craft as your baby. You not only love and nurture it, but you never give up on it. You have to feed it and keep it healthy, correct the wrong, and improve by consistently growing and expanding your mind to be able to give it more. I know it may sound funny comparing business to a baby but when you think about what goes into its quite similar in many aspects. The same way there are bad parents there are bad business owners.
How can you not love what you do? Life is short and we should spend it doing what we are most passionate about. Of course we have to survive and provide for our families, but when you can combine that with something you feel so deeply about it makes life that much better. My advice for my business owners, IF YOU DON'T LOVE IT, DO NOT DO IT!
